Artist: Baby FuzZ
Stands out: Indie production
If you like: Father John Misty
Baby FuzZ is the newest alter ego of American expat songwriter Sterling Fox. Shortly after the 2016 presidential election, Fox moved to Montreal, Canada in cultural protest of the misogynistic, racist, and anti-environmental policies of the US government . There he began work on a batch of songs for a new project called Baby FuzZ. The first release is a song called “Cig” and is what he describes as a nihilist anthem for disillusioned chipmunks. The video is basically just people smoking.
In the past Sterling has released a handful of tunes and also produced “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey. He also wrote a shit ton of songs for other more well known pop stars.
The track starts off somewhere between Father John Misty and Lana Del Rey (her latest record). It’s very indie and very cool.
It later progresses into a powerful middle 8 with loud vocals and heavier guitar before returning to the peaceful cabin vibe.
